[TT] The Power of a Fresh Start

📍The Power of a Fresh Start

What’s so special about the first? It’s the power of a fresh start.I first heard this concept from happiness writer Gretchen Rubin in one of her books I enjoyed (I can’t remember which one), they are all good reads, e.g.: The Happiness Project, Better Than Before, The Four Tendencies.

There are two parts to developing a good habit
1️⃣ Start🌟
2️⃣Continue!🌟

😊

However, have you wanted to start a new habit and it just never the right time, or it’s too much effort?

You like the idea of a healthy habit, but you just don’t seem to get round to it?

I get it!

To help you get going, here are 2 tips to kick-starting a new healthy habit.

📍2 tips to kick start a new healthy habit
🌟 use the power of a fresh start
🌟 start with something small so it is achievable (which builds momentum as you continue with the habit)

The Power of a Fresh Start comes from utilising significant dates, to ignite the spark and fire up that new healthy habit!

Good times for “Fresh Starts” include🌟 the first of the month🌟 a special date of significance eg birthday🌟 first day of the week

So back to today: First, a Fresh Start!

Make use of today, the 1st of August, to kick start a new brain-healthy habit!

Which brain-healthy habit would you consider?

In the past [TT] newsletters, I talked about various lifestyle practices that can improve your brain health and wellbeing. Here are 3 to consider:

📍3 habits that can improve your brain health include
🌟 a regular mindfulness practice
🌟 eating a variety of wholesome foods, predominantly plants for your gut-brain axis
🌟 consistent good quality sleep.

📍Question for you today:
Which brain-healthy habit are you going to start today?

Wishing you a good 1st, for your Fresh Start!

PS – some helpful resources below to get you going!

In Mindfulness for Brain Health, at the end of every chapter there are a few suggested practices to consider.

Here is one:“Start with just five minutes of mindful breathing each day. This small step can help rewire your brain for greater calm and clarity!”

Here’s a video of the inside pages of Mindfulness for Brain Health. At the end of the first 12 chapters there are lists of things people can consider dipping into, for starting a more mindful living.

This is my recent release, and I’m so glad to hear people are finding it very interesting so far!  It’s a workbook style guide that provides relevant interesting information, and has a really practical and kind approach, for people who want to reduce their UPF, which will help with their gut-brain health, and other benefits including metabolic and heart health, weight management, and mood.

This is a little sneak peak into the book – it’s large ie 8.5×11 (similar dimensions to a magazine) – including pictures of colourful attractive wholesome foods!
